L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Towelettes: A safer tanning option!
For those considering a self tanning agent, here is what you should know about L'Oreal's Sublime Bronze Towelettes for the body. While there are many products sold over the counter of variable quality and price, this product overall is not harmful to the skin, temporarily provides color, and is quite affordable.
It's ingredients are all safe for the skin. However, it does contain parabens and other preservative ingredients such as methylisothiazolinone that may result in allergic reactions in those sensitive to those ingredients. Stop its use if you develop skin reactions or rashes.
It contains alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs). While this ingredient can help smoothen and exfoliate skin, it may increase chances of sunburn by causing sun sensitivity.
This tanning product will NOT protect you from the sun. It does not replace sunscreen and offers NO sun protection from UVA and UVB.
The color it gives will be variable amongst those who apply it. Olive or darker skin may appear "orangish" or not really see a benefit from application and a different color of this product might need to be used.
As a SkinVestment, this product will give the tanned look you desire without the sun damage and increased risk of skin cancer. However, the coloring is variable and may not be cosmetically exactly the appearance one is looking for. Also, the only drawback I see is the AHA ingredient so please wear protective clothing if needed and continue use of sunscreen while using this product to prevent sunburns. At $8 to $10 a box for six towelettes, this is a quite affordable investment that may serve an occasional purpose or be used regularly in place of harmful tanning beds.
